Lai is a New York City-based designer by way of Yokohama, Shanghai, San Francisco, and Providence—an itinerary as layered as his work. He holds an MFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design (2021) and an MFA in Design from California College of the Arts (2017), because one just wasn’t enough. He works independently across disciplines, teaches typography at Parsons School of Design, and manages the die Keure NYC Materials Library—where book, paper, and print is serious business.
